Strategic Leadership Audit
A structured overview of how your management tier functions across six key domains where leadership influences execution.
Your plan is set. The strategy is sound, the ambition is clear, and the direction is right. The real question is a quieter one: whether the leadership beneath it can carry the weight of what you are about to ask.
Every ambition rests on the people leading it, and most leaders already carry a sense of where the strengths and the strains sit. What they rarely have is that sense confirmed: set down clearly, in one place, on the record.
This is where instinct becomes evidence, and where a quiet feeling about the team turns into a documented starting point you can act on.
In ten minutes, you cover the six areas where leadership shows up most and create a written baseline: a clear starting point, and the reference every step that follows is judged against.

Your Position Against the Market
The report maps your leadership profile across all six domains and sets it alongside mid-market benchmarks. You see where you are ahead, where you are level, and where the distance is worth closing first.

The Six Domains of Execution
The audit reads organisational capability across six interconnected domains. Not abstract management competencies, but the behavioural evidence that determines whether a plan moves.
- Direction Clarity
- Is your plan shared or held?
Whether senior leaders are aligned to the commercial mandate, or whether strategic priorities dilute as they cascade through the organisation.Start your audit- Performace and Accountability
- What gets reinforced?
How the management tier handles underperformance, and whether standards are maintained or quietly adjusted to avoid difficult conversations.Start your audit- Trust/Psychological Saftey
- Do people feel safe enough to perform?
Whether critical data and dissenting views reach the top intact, or whether they stop somewhere on the way.Start your audit
- Decision-Making in Practice
- How do decisions actually land?
How quickly, and at what level, real decisions are taken. The gap between where decisions should sit and where they currently route is the clearest measure of your operating cadence, and it’s the most common constraint.Start your audit- Day-Day Leadership Behaviour
- What is the lived experience of being led?
The behavioural traces leaders leave under pressure, and whether daily interactions build operational momentum or create drag.Start your audit- Development & Enablement
- Are your leaders growing people?
Whether leadership capability is embedded across the business, or whether execution depends on a small number of individuals.Start your audit
The SLA is where it starts: your view from the top, before the whole team weighs in.

We work closely with mid-market leadership teams to navigate
complexity.

Questions before you start
The audit replaces assumptions with a documented position. If you have questions before you begin, please review the answers.
No. Most leadership assessments ask leaders to rate their own competence. The audit is observational. You are the analyst, reporting what you see happening across your management tier under pressure. It carries no ego risk, only strategic intelligence. What it deliberately does not capture is the view from the tiers below you, which is addressed in Phase 03.
No. The audit returns a reading across each of the six domains: supporting execution, mixed or inconsistent, or likely to slow execution. A single composite number would obscure the thing that matters, which is where the friction actually sits.
Anyone with direct visibility of the senior management tier. Typically the CEO, Managing Director, COO or CHRO. One respondent is sufficient for Phase 01, as this is the top-down reading by design.
The report stands on its own as a baseline. If you want to act on it, the next step is the Implementation Pathway Conversation with Paul Kinkaid. There is no obligation.
Yes. The audit is a private diagnostic tool designed for senior executives. Your inputs and the resulting gap analysis are sent directly to your inbox. We do not share your structural vulnerabilities or strategic ambitions. It is a secure, boardroom-level intelligence-gathering exercise.
